OSR195 Fellow-Programm: Eva Seidlmayer und Philipp Schrögel #WMDE [DE]

Im Rahmen unserer kleinen Reihe zum Fellow-Programm Freies Wissen – dem Projekt von Wikimedia Deutschland und weiteren wissenschaftlichen Partnern – widmen wir uns erneut der Perspektive der Fellows, bzw. in diesem Falle sogar der Perspektive der Alumnis. Dazu begrüßen wir Eva Seidlmayer und Philipp Schrögel als Gäste, die mit uns einen Rückblick wagen auf ihren Weg in das Programm, ihre Erfahrungen mit dem Programm und ihren weiteren Werdegang. Vielen Dank an Eva und Philipp für das spannende Gespräch, aber auch – wie immer – an Wikimedia für den Kontakt und die Unterstützung hinter den Kulissen! Viel Spaß!

OSR178 WikiCite 2020 – Satellite Cologne Preview [EN]

Following the international WikiCite conferences in 2016, 2017 and 2018 the first WikiCite Satellite conference will take place this year in Cologne, Germany. It is organized by ZB MED – Informationcenter for Life Sciences, GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences and will take place May 6th – 8th 2020 at GESIS in Cologne.
„The event aims to connect local library institutions and academic researchers with the WikiCite community in their shared interest in an open infrastructure about open citations and linked bibliographic data for research and education. WikiCite is a growing bibliographic knowledge base connected to projects of the Wikimedia Foundation such as Wikipedia and Wikidata.“

OSR172 Podiumsdiskussion „Wissenschaft, öffne dich!“ #WMDE [DE]

Am 12. Juni hatte Wikimedia Deutschland zu einer Podiumsdiskussion unter dem Titel Wissenschaft, öffne dich! Welche Infrastruktur braucht gute und offene Wissenschaft? eingeladen. Die Veranstaltung fand vor dem Hintergrund des derzeitig stattfindenden Dialog der Bundesregierung zur Einführung einer Lizenzierungsplattform für wissenschaftliche Publikationen statt, bei den Wikimedia Deutschland einer der Stakeholder ist. Im Vorfeld der Veranstaltung hatte Wikimedia Deutschland eine Stellungnahme zum Dialog Lizenzierungsplattform veröffentlicht.

Unter der Moderation von Jan-Martin Wiarda diskutierten Prof. Dr. Ellen Euler (FH Potsdam), Prof. Dr. Christian Sprang (Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels) und Konrad (Förstner) darüber „…welche Art von Infrastruktur es Wissenschaft ermöglicht, ihren gesellschaftlichen Zweck zu erfüllen, für die Öffentlichkeit einsehbar und nutzbar zu sein..“ und „… inwiefern die geplante Lizenzierungsplattform überhaupt notwendig und sinnvoll ist, um wissenschaftliche Publikationen und Ergebnisse im Sinne von Offener Wissenschaft transparent, auffindbar und nachnutzbar zu machen.“

Von der Diskussion gibt es ebenso einen Videomitschnitt der auf dem YouTube-Kanal von Wikimedia Deutschland veröffentlicht ist.

As in the last 2 years, Konrad visited the WikiCite event again and took the opportunity to do a couple of interviews with participants.
